Still With YouPrayer for the long night

How this place works

Prayer, generated with care.

Still With You is a small sanctuary for people who are tired of being told to stay positive. It is for oncology waiting rooms, 3 a.m. pain, the flat weather of depression, and the buzzing mind that will not lie down.

The prayers are not typed by an admin

There is no content calendar of hand-entered devotionals. Each day’s prayer is composed from Scripture, the historic pattern of lament and petition, and language particular to cancer, chronic illness, depression, or anxiety. The daily prayer is determined by the date and the need you choose, so the same morning can be shared.

A living prayer is written in the moment when you ask for one. It is deliberately bounded. It will not promise that faith removes a diagnosis. It will not treat depression as a failure of belief. It will not offer medical advice. It asks God for healing, endurance, skill for caregivers, and the nearness of Christ either way.

A simple rule of faith

  • God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • Jesus Christ suffers with the suffering and is not ashamed to call us His own.
  • Scripture tells the truth about pain and about hope.
  • Prayer may be clumsy. God is still listening.
  • The Church’s first task in affliction is presence, not explanation.

If the night is heavy

This site is prayer, not treatment and not a hotline. Two public numbers in the United States cover different kinds of emergency. Many people have never been taught the second one.

United States

911

Emergency services

Call when someone is in immediate physical danger — a medical emergency, a fire, a serious accident, or a crime happening now. A dispatcher can send police, firefighters, or an ambulance. This is the number most people already know.

United States

988

Suicide & Crisis Lifeline

Call or text when the emergency is in the mind or heart — panic, despair, or a night you cannot carry alone. A trained counselor answers, free and confidential, any hour. 988 is newer (nationwide since 2022). It is not 911: they talk with you; they do not send an ambulance unless the situation requires it.

Outside the United States, use your local emergency number. Tell someone who can sit with you in the flesh. Seeking medical or counseling help is not a lack of faith.
